Sigur Rós was the best stuff EH-VAH!

The film comes out on DVD on the 11th of Nov. and there's definitely gonna be a screening at my place after that! I have, of course, placed an order for the special edition of the film.

The only bad thing about seeing Sigur Rós and all those stunning landscapes was getting homesick... I smell a trip to Icelandia coming up...

Music front has me on my toes: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for getting some Muse tickets soon... The concert was sold out in less than 15 minutes, but there's still a chance for getting there!

Päivän meidän osaltamme aloittanut Disco Ensemble oli miksattu puuroksi. Tosin se ei kai kyseisen orkesterin kohdalla ole mitenkään kovin suuri menetys. Pointseja siitä, että kai niillä oli kova meininki. Kaksi pistettä, deux points.

Suurimmat odotukset kerännyt Mando Diao oli hivenen pettymys. Keikan alku kuulosti karmealta, parin biisin jälkeen miksaaja heräsi edes vähän. Toinen laulaja/kitaristeista, Gustaf, ei oikein jaksanut laulaa, vaan keskittyi huutamaan ja olemaan AD/HD. Höh. Kahdeksan pistettä, huit points.

Kaukaakin katsottuna the 69 Eyes oli kaamea. Mutta pojat sentään pukeutuvat kostyymeihin esiintyessään! Yksi piste, un point.

Ikävä kyllä todistimme useamman biisin verran Poets of the Fallin keikkaa. Teiniyleisöön meno upposi, mutta me vanhat käävät tunsimme myötähäpeää. Ei kannata yrittää olla rock, kun on syntynyt olemaan pop. Kuusi pistettä, six points.

Anniskelualueelta näkyi kiitettävän hyvin the Ark. Ola ja jengi eivät tyytyneet olemaan perinteinen festariesiintyjä, vaan ohjelmaan kuului oikein garderobin päivitys. Ensin mustaa, sitten valkoista päällään pojat soittivat kuin pienet eläimet. Ja ottivat yleisönsä, biisi toisensa jälkeen. Mikäs siinä oli ottaessa, kun oli saanut keskimääräistä enemmän soittoaikaa. Ei ihan meikän makuun, mutta hyvästä menosta kahdeksan pistettä, huit points.

Kotiseuturakkauden perusteella mun pitäisi olla liekeissäni Lapkosta. Vitsi "Mitä Lapko teki Placebon keikalla? -Nauhoitti uutta materiaalia" ei kuitenkaan ole ihan tuulesta temmattu. Varmaan pojat kuulostavat kyseisellä lainamateriaalilevyllä ihan hyvältä, mutta keikka oli yhtä puuroa, eikä biisejä erottanut toisistaan muuten kuin Villen spiikkausten perusteella. Herran laulanta on muuten Putro-tason lausuntaa, enimmäkseen. Voi pettymys. Sitä eivät pelastaneet edes vieressä kuunnelleet Kie ja Mikko, 2/3 von Hertzen Brothersista. Okei, kundien läsnäolosta lisäpointsit. Yhteensä viisi pistettä, cinq points.

Illan pääesiintyjä Nine Inch Nails oli ...mielenkiintoinen. Muutaman biisin sitä kilkatusta jaksoi kuunnella. Trentillä kova meno, kitarat ja mikit lensivät biisien välillä. Yleisöllä kova meno, nyrkki nousi. Mulla meinas tulla aneurysma, ei kova meno. Yliarvostettua paskaa. Kaksi pistettä, deux points.

Vaikka pitikin NIN:n keskeltä lähteä kuuntelemaan PMMP:tä, ei mikään muuta sitä tosiasiaa, että Pömppö on ihan saatanan ärsyttävä "bändi". Neitojen asenne on olevinaan äärimmäisen rock ja siististi cool, kuten Pelle asian ilmaisisi. Ihme etteivät ole jo tukehtuneet siihen vihaisten nuorten naisten angstiinsa. Miran ääni ei kestä keikoilla sitäkään vähää mitä Paulan. Kesken piti lähteä pois. Yleisö oli mukana ja meno hyvää, neljä pistettä siitä ja hyvästä miksauksesta, quatre points. Toivottavasti Huvilateltan keikasta alkava tauko kestää pitkään, eikä Paula sillä välin tee soololevyä.

-Zen Café: eikö ne jo lopeta? Seriously, levyttävät saman levyn uudestaan ja uudestaan. Biisit kertovat suomalaisen miehen angstisesta taivalluksesta, yksi toisensa jälkeen. Sovitus saattaa olla vähän eri. Mutta laulu"melodia" on aina sama: pateettinen, monotoninen ja töksähtelevä. On niin vaikeaa olla suomalainen mies, we get it. No, ainakin pojat pukeutuvat keikoille. Ja olihan Putrolla taas se hattukin. Kaksi pistettä, deux points.

-von Hertzen Brothers: pojat ovat selvästi kuunnelleet Kingston Wallinsa, joten ihan kaikkia omaperäisyyspisteitä ei voi antaa. Mutta pitkän linjan Egotrippi- ja Lemonator-fanina on todettava, että on se Pide vaan niin ihq. Sitä paitsi, monellako suomalaisbändillä on keskellä festarisettiänsä muutama viiden minsan instrumentaalipätkä? Ei monella, väitän. Perkeleen hyvä. Vierelläni diggailivat Subbareiden Janne ja Rasmuksen Lauri, vähänks siistii. 12 pistettä, douze points.

-Hanoi Rocks: soittivat varmuuden vuoksi oikein kovaa. Siltä varalta, että yleisö erehtyy luulemaan kovaa soittamista hyvin soittamiseksi. Ovela veto, ja purikin varmaan osaan kännistä yleisöä. Nolla pistettä, zero points.

-the Sounds: luulivat varmaan soittavansa kotikulmilla Malmössä. Sen verran mukana oli yleisö. Kukaan ei ollut kertonut mulle, että suomalainen teinijengi on niin pro-Sounds. Koko keikan täysillä mukana. Oli Maja ihan ymmällään, mutta ymmärrettävästi enemmän kuin mielissään. Naisen ääni ei kyllä ole suunniteltu muita kuin klubikeikkoja varten, mutta hei, ainakin sillä oli oikein lyhyet housut, jotka paljastivat notkeat ja kauniit jalat. Niille oli käyttöä, kun leidi hyppi ympäri lavaa kuin pieni apina. 10 pistettä, dix points. Miinusta siitä, että keikan jälkeen ei enää saanut ostettua bändipaitoja. WTF?

The weather was so lovely on Sunday, that we decided to go "sailing"...

So we left Helsinki behind and took a ferry...

...and went to Suomenlinna for a picnic!

Don't worry, I haven't been preggers (not that you could tell by looking at my tummy). You haven't been kept in the dark 'bout that.

Lately I've been getting my shit together and decided to do something about my living conditions. That's code language for going to IKEA.

Thanks to that wonderful Swedish invention, my home looks a bit more like home again. Yay! By the way, strangely enough, I actually managed to find something there that was actually made in Sweden, and not China/Vietnam/Indonesia/whatever. Can you guess what it is?

Today I went slightly nuts. I got some more new stuff for my kitchen, especially for these lovely warm summer days. This is something that will keep my drinks chilled if I, say, decide to go to the park with some wine or whatever. They have some other cool stuff, too. They're made from neoprene, the same fabric as wetsuits. Cool, eh?

And last, but most definitely not least: the ultimate favorite, and probably the love of my life: my brand new Smoothie Pro. You can just taste those yummy margaritas at my housewarming party, eh? I can make two litres at once!!! Bloody amazing, that's what it is! And did you notice the tap? How convenient, eh? Get an even closer look here.

Gotta run, I feel the compulsory need to mix stuff. Hopefully I have some fruits, so that I have something else to mix than just gin or vodka.

Aion seuraavassa kuvailla viimeaikaisia vastoinkäymisiäni värikästä kieltä käyttäen. Jos moinen vulgaari käytös sotii periaatteitasi vastaan, älä lue tämän enempää.

Asiaan: voi vittu että vituttaa. Tässä on viikon varrella tapahtunut kaikkea pientä paskaa, joka yhdessä muodostaa vähän isomman paskamöykyn ja aikaansaa aivan uskomattoman suurta vitutusta. Tuntuu, että Helsinki on ihan vitun innoissaan toivottanut minua tervetulleeksi.

Viikko sitten yksi rajauskynäni tippui meikkauksen yhteydessä vessanpönttöön. Näin kävi siitä huolimatta, että vessanpöntön kansi oli kiinni. Miten se on mahdollista, kysytte hämmentyneinä. Sitähän minäkin. Mutta on olemassa tavallisia ihmisiä pimeämpiä voimia, kutsukaamme heitä nyt vaikka insinööreiksi. He ovat suunnitelleet sellaisen vessanpöntön kannen, jonka päältä mikä tahansa voi vieriä kannen kiinnitysruuvien kohdalle, ja siitä pönttöön. Ovat tuotekehittelyn aikana päättäneet jättää sellaisen sopivan raon sinne kannen ja pöntön väliin. Voi kuinka ihanaa, kiitos, insinöörit.

Paria päivää tämän jälkeen (kun olin heittänyt kyseisen rajauskynän roskikseen kalastettuani sen ensin ylös pöntöstä, yäk), samaisessa vessassa, olin aamulla peilin edessä laittamassa korviksia korviini. Toinen korvis tietysti tippui kädestäni ja vierviervier vieri viemäriin. Tietysti! Vitutti aivan suunnattoman paljon. Jostakin syystä tämän kämpän putkisto hamuaa tavaroitani. Siitä sitten vittuuntuneena ovia paiskoen lähdin töihin, tietäen, että kotona odottaisi vesilukon avaus pitkän työpäivän päätteeksi. Sopivasti, kun olin hakemassa pyörääni telineestä, havaitsin, että oli alkanut sataa vettä. Aivan vitun loistavaa.

Ja nyt kun kerran päästiin mutkan kautta aiheeseen pyörätelineet, niin voi vittu että vituttaa. Pihassamme on näennäisen hyvä systeemi, jonka avulla fillarin saa vaijeri- tai U-lukon avulla kiinni tankoon. Mutta ne tangot on mitoitettu aivan päin hevon vittua sekä pituus- että leveyssuunnassa. Pyörät tulevat aivan liian lähelle toisiaan, eikä kiinnityskohta ole koskaan sopivan alhaalla pyörään nähden. Sen parissa on sitten kiva ähistä 10 minuuttia, kun on hikinen ja väsynyt poljettuaan kotiin töitten jälkeen.

Polkemisesta puheen ollen, arvatkaapa huviksenne, mitä tänä aamuna tapahtui? Olin juuri lähtenyt matkaan, kun huomasin pyöräni vauhdin hidastuvan, ja yht'äkkiä havahduin siihen, että lahkeeni tuntuu hassulta. Lahje oli juuttunut pyöräni rattaisiin kiinni, vittu jee. Sain onneksi pyörän pysäytettyä nopeasti, mutta silti farkkujeni lahkeeseen tuli muutaman sentin mittainen reikä. Jos olisin edennyt vielä hieman pidemmälle, reikä olisi varmaankin ulottunut myös sääreeni. Vittu että vitutti. Näytin varmaan ihan vitun siistiltä virastossa revittyine farkkuineni. Vittu että nyt pitää sitten sijoittaa ratassuojaan, ja ompelukone saa laulaa kunhan farkut ovat taas puhtaat (unohdin tietysti mainita, että kotimatkalla, luonnollisesti, tällaisen päivän päätteeksi, satoi vettä ja paskaiset farkut piti reikineen laittaa pesukoneeseen).

Kun rikkinäisine paskaisine farkkuineni astuin kotini ovesta sisään, minua tervehti eteisessä lehti nimeltä "Kirkko ja kaupunki". Voi vittu, taasko ne jeesustelijat lähettivät minulle postia. Joka vitun viikko kolahtaa postiluukusta jotain saatanan herrajeesusjuttuja. Lähetin niille sähköpostia, josko voisivat lopettaa häirintänsä. Lupasin erota kirkosta, jos tarve vaatii.

Sähköpostitse lähestyin eilen myös "ystävääni" Soneran asiakaspalvelua. Olen tilannut itselleni 8-megaisen nettiliittymän, ja arvatkaapa paljonko liittymässäni on ollut nopeutta, kun olen sillä avauspäivästä asti "surffaillut", eli suomeksi sanottuna odottanut vähintään 5 minuuttia joka sivun latautumista? No, alimmillaan 37 kbit/s ja vakiona noin 150-200 kbit/s. Ei siis IHAN tuota kahdeksaa megaa. Kirjoitin nörttipojille suunnattuun asiakaspalautteeseeni, että mummonikin on nopeampi kuin teidän internet-liittymänne. Töitten jälkeen avasin kotiin päästyäni koneeni ja kas, nopeuteni on noussut jo kuuteen megaan. Jollakin Soneran nörttipojalla on siis sydän paikallaan!

Liittymän nopeuden nousu ei muuta kuitenkaan sitä tosiasiaa, että koneeni WLAN-verkkosovitin on rikki. Jos haluan käyttää intterveppiä langattomasti, saan joka kerralla käynnistää langattoman verkkoyhteyden manuaalisesti jostain vitun järjestelmänhallinnasta. Jokseenkin vittumaista, en voi suositella. Pitänee asentaa vanha ystävämme winukka jossakin vaiheessa uudelleen. Vitun winukka, vitun Microsoft, vitun Bill Gates.

Kaiken edellämainitun lisäksi minulla on nukkumisvaikeuksia. Yrittäkää vittu itse kuuden tunnin yöunilla kestää tuollainen paskasatsi yhden viikon aikana. Nainen, joka normaalisti pystyy kevyesti nukkumaan yhdeksän tuntia yössä, ei ole ehkä ihan parhaimmillaan juuri nyt.

Siltä varalta, että tilanteen kehittymistä seuraa joku pahaa karmaa aiheuttava henkilö/taho, olen listannut tähän muutamia vinkkejä tulevien vastoinkäymisten varalle. Huomisesta alkaen minut saisi vittuuntumaan se, että

Matka juhannuksen viettoon on pitkä ja kärsimystä täynnä. Etenkin Seinäjoen ja Vaasan välillä liikennöivä taajamajuna on sopivan hikinen ja täysi.
Joku murtautuu asuntooni sillä välin kun itse juon portugalilaista valkoviiniä jossakinpäin Vaasaa, ja kotiin palatessani löydän kämpän, josta on A) pöllitty kaikki ja/tai B) jossa on pistetty kaikki paskaksi.
Juhannuksena törttöilen humalassa tai ilman, ja seurauksena katkaisen kinttuni tai jotakin muuta yhtä viehättävää.
Saan junan karjavaunumeiningin seurauksena tai heikosti paistetusta juhannusgrillimakkarasta ruokamyrkytyksen ja ainoana suomalaisena laihdun juhannuksena (itse asiassa ei tuo laihtuminen niin kamalaa olisi, hmmm).
Unohdan pöydälle jotakin mukavaa, kuten maitotölkin tai jugurttipurkin, ja juhannuksen jälkeen keittiössäni on homeitiöitä tai sienikasvustoa (tuliskohan tolla tavalla magic mushroomseja?). Tai sitten unohdan ikkunan auki ja tänne on lennähtänyt joku vitun kerttuli sisälle, ja tehnyt pesän olohuoneen sohvalle.
Ensi viikon palkkapäivä unohtuu minun kohdaltani ja saan rahaa vasta heinäkuun lopulla.
Ulkomailta tilaamani tavarat eivät koskaan tule perille, mutta Visa-kortiltani ne on kyllä veloitettu.

I'd say, that I've been a busy little worker bee, but that's not exactly true. Most of last week, my first week at my new job, I was either in training or at a spa with my colleagues ;)

My new home looks pretty good right about now, since I've unpacked most of the boxes and things are starting to find their places... I just have to make one little trip to IKEA to purchase some stuff for my bookshelf, so that I can unpack the book boxes as well. I smell a housewarming party coming up soon...

Am now in part C, which includes unpacking the boxes in the middle of a huge mess. But I absolutely love love love my new home!

Part D is about getting started with my new job. So far so good.

Part E consists of finding a way to get a working internet connection to my house... Under construction...

Moving your shit from point A to point B is tuff.

And we've only packed the car today. The whole unpacking business is gonna take place tomorrow. [ s i g h ] So basically we're still in phase A. Well, technically A and a half, I guess. Aab?

My brain is turned off and my feet are numb. Thank Goddess my new place is worth it... And thank Goddess for miz Winehouse and miz Allen!
